Hydrangea Season
It was a relief to have June come to an end, along with Japan's rainy season. It rained pretty much everyday in June and then continued for about 2 weeks in July - talk about humidity! Of course now comes the hot weather... and the humidity still continues. All that rain springs forth Japan's Hydrangea season. Wow! Hydrangeas grow like weeds in Japan - they crop up everywhere - in gardens, along the roadside, and even out in town between buildings where there might be less that a foot of space. Some of the bushes are well over 12 feet high. The hydrangeas I saw came in a variety of colors ranging from white to pinks and rosy reds to lavendars and deep purples, almost blue! I kept forgetting my camera but I managed to capture a few shots. Next year, I promise to be more diligent when it comes to capturing these seasonal beauties.

Oh my gosh, how beautiful! A friend of mine here in San Diego just returned from a trip to Japan with her hubby who was speaking at a conference. She did say it's crazily hot and that folks carry these little washcloth looking things to dab their faces! Glad you're doing so well. Looks like you're having fun. Miss you!
